THE SCENIC RIM TO BYRON BAY

Your three-day epicurean extravaganza begins with a meet-and-greet from our friendly local guide. Upon collecting guests from Brisbane (9 am) and the Gold Coast (9:40 am), you’ll cruise up the tree-fringed Rainforest Road towards Tamborine Mountain, the highest town in the Scenic Rim. As one of Lonely Planet’s top ten regions in the world, the Scenic Rim is awash with untouched rainforest and gushing falls.

We make a few quick pitstops to capture the mercurial views before rolling into Witches Falls Winery. This boutique vineyard’s namesake comes from its mysterious gnarled trees (the local kids reckon the branches look like witches’ brooms). Treat yourself to their award-winning cheese board and a glass of handcrafted Grenache.

Your next stop is right around the corner, the magnificent Mason Wines. Devour a lazy two-course lunch on its lush lawns while gazing over pristine Aussie bush views (it’s another top spot to sample sublime artisanal wine).

We then cruise down the coast towards Byron Bay and check-in to the five-star Crystalbrook Byron Resort. Asustainable luxury benchmark, the sleek suites in this eco-friendly hotel feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking 18 hectares of pristine rainforest.

Pay homage to the traditional owners on an Indigenous culture tour led by a respected Arakwal custodian, Delta Kay.

Learn about ancient Bundjalung customs while foraging for bush tucker and medicine in the scenic Cape Byron peninsula.

Pull up a pew for dinner at Crystalbrook’s acclaimed in-house restaurant, Forest Byron Bay. The refined mod-oz venue plates up ethically sourced free-range meat, vegetarian, and seafood dishes—how does West Australian true or Bangalow sweet pork sound?

BYRON BAY

Wake up to the chirping of birds in a secluded rainforest setting. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel and a leisurely morning at your own pace. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, embark on an optional outdoor activity like surfing or ocean kayaking. Early risers can take a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride to see Australia’s first rays of sunshine for the day. Want to check out the town? Make use of the complimentary bicycles and cruise to the beach or to the many cafes Byron has to offer.

Come midday, and we’ll cruise through rolling green pastoral hills towards The Farm, an iconic Byron venue home to a slew of hip micro-businesses. Lunch is at the Three Blue Ducks, an acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant that plucks fresh ingredients mere metres from your table. Stroll the rural property to say hello to highland cows and shop for artisanal goodies in its cute boutiques.

Rested and renourished, you’ll then sip craft brews at Stone & Wood, a famous Byron brewery known as one of the best in Australia with countless award-winning beers. Our next stop is Cape Byron Distillery, a boutique gin maker set in a lush rainforest locale. Hear Brookies’ inspiring sustainability story while savouring his delicious range—every bottle contains botanicals sourced on-site.

The rest of the day is at leisure. Kick back at your soothing rainforest retreat or head out to frequent Byron’s trendy restaurants and lively bars.

TWEED HINTERLAND & HOME

On the third day, sleep in or opt for a morning yoga session. After another nourishing breakfast, we check out at 10 am and venture through the verdant Tweed Hinterlands.

Your first stop is at the sustainability-focused and well known Tropical Fruit Farm. Grab a quick coffee before our tropical fruit tasting then explore the picturesque property with its Insta-worthy prickly pears and incredible views of Wollumbin.

Nearby, Husk Distillers is a paddock-to-bottle producer famous for its unique cane juice rum and transformative gin. Take a distillery tour to see the production of their world-famous Ink Gin, a floral-infused drop that adopts a mesmerising pink hue upon adding tonic. Tastings accompany a gourmet alfresco lunch with striking Mount Wollumbin views.

An unforgettable weekend of mouth-watering morsels and tasty tipples concludes upon returning home in the afternoon.

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend three days – with amazing destinations, endless food, beer, wines, and gin and most importantly knowledgeable and engaging hosts! Alex and Drew were so much fun and made the whole experience feel like a long weekend road trip with mates. We did the three-day Brisbane to Byron food tour, visiting distilleries, and wineries in the hinterland, ate until we could eat no more, traversed fruit farms in the Tweed Valley and ended every day at the luxe Crystalbrook Byron. Honestly, I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

READY TO EXPERIENCE THE BRISBANE TO BYRON FOOD TRAIL?

PREFER A PRIVATE TOUR OR CORPORATE RETREAT PACKAGE?

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Public tours will run once a month with groups of between 4 and 11 people. While private tours are bookable by appointment for groups of 2 to 60 people (if larger than 60 please enquire) on any dates pending availability. To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to book at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance and longer if looking to book in the summer months of November to January.

A private tour is a booking whereby the group receives exclusive access to both the tour guide and the vehicle, along with the ability to customise certain elements of the tours.

A public tour is whereby different groups can book on the same tour. A minimum number of 4 people must be met for a public tour to depart. For the Brisbane to Byron Food Trail, public tour groups will never be larger than 11 people.

We require a minimum of 4 people booked for a confirmed public tour departure. If 4 people are not booked, we will either try put you on another day where we are running the tour or give a full refund. We have a maximum group size of 11 people for our public tour.

We can provide private tours for groups as small as two – however, as we’re sure you’d understand, groups of this size attract a significantly higher price per person. While our regular vehicles seat 11 people, we can accommodate groups of up to 60 with the use of larger buses. All private tours are by appointment, are subject to availability and must be enquired for in advance to ensure our preferred venues can accommodate our group. For corporate groups, we can organise groups of up to 150 people and can organise transport, venue bookings, accommodation, activities, conference / meeting room bookings

We recommend booking at least one month in advance to guarantee availability. If wanting to travel within a month, please enquire for availability anyway.

Yes! For our private tours only, we are happy and able to accommodate children. Children 17 years and under are welcome on the trip for a significantly discounted price.

As our tours are carefully and meticulously curated, we have what we call ‘must-do elements’ which we consider essential to the Brisbane to Byron Food Trail experience. However, private tours or corporate retreat packages do allow us the flexibility to tweak certain parts of the tour in accordance with your group’s preferences. If you have anything in mind, please feel free to ask – we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

Of course! As mentioned, all private tours are flexible and can be curated in accordance to your group’s preferences. Just let us know your ideal tour and we will do our best to provide the perfect itinerary for your group! If booking a public tour, you may choose to extend your time in Byron Bay, but it just means you miss out on the Sunday part of the tour and will need to find your own way back to Brisbane or fly out of Ballina airport to wherever is next on your trip.

Well, in terms of the actual room, absolutely nothing! In fact, with just the one person, it should be extra luxurious. Keep in mind it will attract an additional amount as the pricing is calculated on a per person basis.

To secure a booking, you must pay a 50% deposit for a public tour booking and a 25% deposit for a private tour booking. The balance is then due at least 14 days prior to departure.

Yes! If booking a public tour, we can collect you from either Brisbane, the Gold Coast (Oxenford) or the Tamborine Mountain. Or if you’re happy to skip the first part of Day 1, we can collect you in Tweed and Byron Bay regions.

If booking a private tour, we can collect anywhere in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Tweed or Byron Bay regions.
