day tour

the tantalising tweed

Indulge in a luxury tour and quaff terrific Tweed tipples while devouring gourmet nibbles on this epicurean excursion.

Tour Overview

Craving to savour the Tweed’s top farm-to-table fare? Then we’ve got the ultimate luxury tour for you.

Our epicurean adventure begins with a mid-morning pick-up from your Gold Coast, Tweed or Byron Bay hotel.

We then venture through verdant hinterland hills towards Tropical Fruit World, one of the largest fruit plantations on earth. Enjoy a much-needed caffeine fix before taste-testing these vibrant citrusy delights. Peer over photogenic orchids as passionate staff outline the fruit-growing process.

Next, we hit the highlight of our tour: a five-course gourmet lunch with an optional wine pairing at Tweed River House. Overlooking the water in Murwillumbah, this stately century-old home has been converted into an elegant Provençal-style bistro. A gastronomic guru named Joseph McGrattan heads the kitchen team, earning a GFG Chef’s Hat for his fabulous globally-inspired fare.

All ingredients come direct from pre-vetted local suppliers; rest assured, every dish is as fresh as it gets. As for the menu: how does slow-braised pork belly with crispy crackling and a dollop of Dijon mustard sound?

With an adequately-lined stomach, we make haste for Husk Distillers. As the Tweed’s most-celebrated paddock-to-bottle producer, this family-run business pumps out next-level drops. Would- be booze producers will adore a behind-the-scenes tour of the award-winning distillery. You’ll then quaff their transformative Ink Gin (and other sensational sips) while soaking up the sweeping hinterland views.
