Summer is set to sizzle in South East Queensland this year. And the best way to beat the heat is by popping into one of these bopping Gold Coast breweries for a hoppy hand-crafted pint.
From Main Beach to Burleigh and everywhere in between, we’re covering the best craft breweries on the Gold Coast.
Cheers.
Precinct Brewery
Summer sipping just got a whole lot better thanks to the Gold Coast’s craft beer scene. Precinct in Miami Beach is one of the best breweries to hit up for a quality pint or a six-pack of their vibrant, custom-designed cans.
But that’s not all—this chic, industrial-themed venue also boasts a minimalist space that’s perfect for hosting live tunes, tipsy trivia, and stand-up comedy nights. The brew masters here source quality local produce to create a range of artisanal beers that will make you want to stay all night long. Or if you’re looking to make a day of it, grab some friends and jump on board our Eat & Drink the Gold Coast tour, where the last stop includes a tasting session at Precinct.
Balter Brewery
Having started on the Gold Coast, Balter Brewing Company has become a big name in the Australian craft beer scene. You’ll find their instantly-recognisable smiley-faced logos on tap (and on the shelves) at bottlos and bars Australia-wide.
To guzzle the good stuff from the source, make yourself a date with their OG brewery in Currumbin Waters. Beer vat tours, tasting paddles, vibrant pop-art, and a pop-up food truck await. Not sure what to order? Try the classic XPA. The popular drop snagged second spot on the Hottest 100 of Australian Beers of 2022.
Black Hops Brewing
This acclaimed South East Queensland chain is the brainchild of three good mates who dreamed of brewing world-class beer. And by all accounts, they’ve succeeded—you’ll find Black Hops in thousands of beer-guzzling venues Australia-wide.
It all began here in the Burleigh Heads taproom, a moody black-hued venue serving sampler paddles and tasty bites. The eco-conscious mob does takeaways in tinnies or 2L reusable growlers for the ultimate roadie.
BOBs Beer
Smack bang in the centre of Surfers, BOBs Beer is a stylish contemporary spot luring a lively after-office crowd. A bewildering array of site-brewed beers gets served on tap, including their ever-popular sours and French-style saisons.
Feeling peckish? BOBs does some of the tastiest grub in Surfers Paradise. Crowd favourites include flame-grilled scotch fillet steaks, creamy mushroom gnocchi, and an assortment of superb shared plates.
Fortitude Brewing Co.
While this magnificent Tamborine Mountain brewery isn’t on the Gold Coast, the sun-drenched venue is well worth the drive. First-rate pizzas and delectable drops—try the Fortitude Pale or the Granny Smith Hard Apple Cider—guarantee a fun-filled outing.
Rock up on the weekend to sip with a festive yet family-friendly vibe. A mini pop-up deli serves delicious locally-sourced cheese while talented musos belt out cruisey acoustic tunes.
