Morning
Roll out of bed whenever you want and hit the road towards Tamborine Mountain. Sweeping vistas of the verdant highlands and crystalline coastline unfurl as you climb.
If you haven’t already filled your grumbling tummy, pop into Franquette. This acclaimed French-style patisserie plates up the tastiest almond croissants this side of Paris. Grab a fresh baguette or some brioche to munch on at home.
Now you’re feeling satiated, it’s time to embark on a classic Tamborine Mountain pastime: waterfall chasing. The most picture-perfect regional cascade is Curtis Falls, a stunning spot reached by an easy 1.7 km return trail.
Swimming is not permitted at Curtis Falls to preserve local glow worms. If you fancy a frolic, take the more arduous 3.2 km return hike to Cedar Creek Falls, where an ice-cold plunge pool feels ultra-refreshing on a hot summer’s day. Note the place gets crowded on weekends.
Should waterfalls bore you, stroll along the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk for an elevated view. This series of sturdy steel bridges stretches 30 metres from the forest floor, putting you right up above the canopy. Need more thrills? Check out the lofty zip lines and high ropes of the Mount Tamborine TreeTop Challenge located just up the road.
Lunchtime
As a buzzing day-trip and weekend destination, Tamborine Mountain hosts a buffet of eateries. But we reckon the best way to tickle your tastebuds here is on a cheeky vineyard visit.
Witches Falls Winery is a must if delicious cheese—try truffle triple cream brie—and other charcuterie classics appeal. Try their Insta-famous grazing board for the full gamut of flavours. As a neat little bonus, James Halliday gave this acclaimed winery a Five Red Star rating.
Once you’ve got a gutful of award-winning Grenache, mosey over to Mason Wines (it’s right around the corner) for a paddock-to-plate lunch and pairing. The head chef creates tasty plates like pork belly with boulangère potatoes from local ingredients.

What better way to spend a lazy afternoon than bric-à-brac shopping at Gallery Walk?
Located opposite Franquette, this petite little street hosts a plethora of artisanal stores. From homemade candies to antique curiosities, you’ll discover a treasure trove of goodies you didn’t know you needed.
